Meet Major Tom

Let's fly to outer space with David Bowie and Andrew Kolb !

Their "Space Oddity" song and children's book are a perfect tandem of inspired pop music and 70's-style graphic design. The song was released in 1969 and has become a classic favourite for music lovers. Not to be mistaken for Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey", although some say that both the song and the film have a lot in common. You can check the beautiful illustrations and see if they resemble the astronaut or the spaceship in the film. In any case, a fantastic combination of music and image, which you can enjoy in the following video (notice that the song's lyrics, line by line, are printed to match the music on each page of the book, so go full screen and turn the volume up!):

And now, why not having a look at "2001: ..." or any of Kubrick's masterworks?

Or listen to some more songs by Bowie?
